There was no question in my mind, I loved my wife. She was sweet and loving, but after twenty years of marriage even I had to admit she wasn't exactly a bombshell. She was short, middle-aged, and kind of dumpy. Probably a good match for me with my dad bod and thinning hair if I'm being honest. Still, sometimes, every now and then, I'd have fantasies about the kind of girl I might have had if everything had been different. But that's all they were fantasies until I found the book. It was tucked in the back of a closet, dusty and leather bound like a good spell book should be. Although, god only knows how it got there.
